   New Leader?

Anyone who has ever been involved in Scouting will always remember fondly the fun and excitement they gained from the experience.

There is no shortage of youngsters wishing to be involved in Scouting in our District, but many Groups need additional Helpers and Leaders to deliver the exciting Scout Programme.

A new generation of kids deserve to be given the same opportunities, many of us had.

Scouting exists only because there are volunteer Leaders willing to give up some of their time.

If you are over 18, you are more than welcome to help out in a Leadership role.

Full training and support will be provided. It will benefit your own team building skills and always looks good on your C.V.

Its challenging, great fun and generally involves only a few hours a week.

So what are you waiting for?

Even if you have no experience of Scouting, but would like to work with young people, we will find a role for you and provide you with training and support.

  Young Leaders

A Young Leaders Scheme has been introduced for young people aged 16 or 17, who would like to help with any of the three Scout Sections. This Training Scheme could be for you!

  • If you are looking to continue with activities in Scouting, or even if you are new to it

  • Seeking Duke of Edinburgh 'credit'

  • Want 'work experience' for a CV - teaching/child care professions!

  • Just feel you have something to offer

Most Young Leaders will continue to participate fully, or simply 'dip-in' to the District Explorers Sections, which run a programme for the 14 to 18 age group. Check out the Explorers link to find out more.
