The aim of this site (set up a number of years ago to serve East
Kilbride District Scout Association) is to improve local communication
with members, parents and non-members.
As part of a recent national
re-organization we are now part of Clyde Region rather than 'Lanarkshire
Area.'
East Kilbride and Hamilton
Districts have also merged to become 'Strathcalder' District.
By exploring this site you
can find out more about local Scouting and the fun and excitement
of being a member of an active Scout Group in the District, an
experience shared by millions of young people all over the World. |

Scouts! -
What are they all about?
|
Scouting is about being part of a ‘world-wide’ family, one of nearly 30 million Scouts in 216 countries.
In the UK there are over 500,000 young people involved in Scouting.
We have a 'programme' which covers the age range 6 to 25. Young people, of either sex, are eligible to join the Section appropriate to their age. These Sections are: Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, Explorer Scouts, and 'Scout Network'. If you would like to join one of these Sections, or 'praise be', fancy being a Leader, use the
'Groups' link to find the 'family unit' closest to you and the contact info. to get in
touch. Visit the
Sections page to discover more about the various Scout Sections, age ranges and what they get up to.
