About Cubs

There are loads of fun things that you can do as a Cub Scout. We get a chance to try lots of different activities.. If you do them properly you will get a badge which you can wear on your uniform.

We also get to go on trips and days out. Sometimes we go camping with the rest of our Pack,  which means we sleep in a tent.

We also go for weekend trips to 'outward-bound' centres like the Scout Activity Centre at Lochgoilhead, where we sleep in 'dorms'. We do canoeing, archery, abseiling, hill walking and other great things.

Programme

Every Cub Scout participates in a balanced programme which ensures all young people experience a wide range of subjects.

Our programme is divided into a number of zones, methods and ways of working.

Zones split the whole programme into manageable areas.  Each zone represents a different development area.

There are six programme zones in Cub Scouting:

  • Beliefs and Attitudes
  • Community
  • Fitness
  • Creative
  • Global
  • Outdoor and Adventure

The Cub Scout Promise is:

I promise that I will do my best
To do my duty to God and the Queen

To help other people

And to keep the Cub Scout Law

The Cub Scout Law is:

Cub Scouts always do their best

Think of others before themselves

And do a good turn every day
