Back in Harness

The summer holidays are over and all sections back in business and with the nights drawing in many enquiries from 'new starts'. Cubs and Beavers have all been enjoying week-end activities since we returned.

Cubs

Older cubs went to a skills and leadership training weekend camp at Auchengillan Outdoor Centre from the 2nd - 4th September.

This was 'billed' as a '5 star' camp and despite the wet 9 Cubs from both Packs had a great time. Contrary to their expectations

5* did not mean they got 'breakfast in bed'!

Beavers

As part of their 25th Anniversary Celebrations of Beaver Scouts 40 Beavers from our two Colonies visited Blairdrummond Safari Park

as part of a contingent from Strathcalder District.  Beaver Scouts had a great day out with the weather being very kind to us in the afternoon.

Mossneuk Colony's older Beavers also had a hall 'sleepover'.  So that's the Leaders exhausted for days!  Hall Beavers had their 'sleepover'

before we broke up.

New Cub Pack Starts on 6th February

The Group is about to start a third Cub Pack which will meet at our hall on a Monday night - 7.00 to 8.30pm

This is a fantastic move forward and responds to the demand for places for this age range. We will need to look seriously at trying to get a third Beaver Colony off the ground as 'waiting lists' also grow for the younger age group.  We will need additional Leaders if this goal is to be achieved.

Monday Cubs will be run by Steven Macgregor and Lyndsey Hobbs.
